Transformation to the nature reserve
1938 - 1970
As early as 1938, the first parts of the Alperstedter Ried were converted into a nature reserve.
In 1954, the area under protection was extended to 110 hectares.
1950-1970 take place water management and mining measures, in addition to industrial and housing construction. As a result, it comes to groundwater lowering and thus dehydration of the sump body, as well as the bushing of the area.In 1980, in intensive cooperation of nature conservation workers, the hunting group Alperstedt, forestry workers, the FFW Alperstedt and the LPG (P) Stotternheim against the strong bush encroachment and the entanglement of the meadows in the horse song proceeded
Preservation of plant and animal life
from 1981
From 1981, annual mowing and sheep grazing in the winter months ensure the preservation of plant and animal life.
